Atera Pricing — Per-Technician Plans, Hidden Costs & When the Model Breaks (2026)
Updated: Jul 3, 2026 · List prices verified against Atera's published plans

Atera's pitch is the cleanest in RMM: pay per technician, endpoints unlimited. For a 2-tech shop managing 800 endpoints, that math destroys per-endpoint rivals. But the model has edges — add-ons, the AI tier push, and repeated price increases — that the marketing page won't walk you through. We will.

Atera pricing — published tiers (billed annually vs monthly)

Plan (MSP track)Annual billingMonthly billingThe tier's real point
Pro~$149/tech/mo~$169/tech/moCore RMM + PSA + remote access. Where most small MSPs live
Growth~$179/tech/mo~$209/tech/moAdds chat, better patch automation, more integrations
Power / Expert~$189-219/tech/mo~$229-269/tech/moCompliance reporting, database snapshots, premium support

IT-department (non-MSP) plans run a parallel track at similar numbers. All tiers: unlimited endpoints — the whole reason Atera exists. Prices have climbed repeatedly since 2024 (existing subscribers report $149 → $209 renewal jumps on some tiers) — lock annual pricing if you're staying.

What "unlimited" doesn't include

  • Remote access beyond Splashtop-basic: AnyDesk/TeamViewer integrations and concurrent-session upgrades cost extra.
  • Network Discovery: add-on per technician.
  • Backup: Atera resells Acronis/Axcient — per-GB/per-device on top. At 500 endpoints this line dwarfs the RMM line.
  • AI Copilot tier: pushed hard, priced per tech on top of the plan. Useful ticket summarization; not magic.
  • EDR/AV: Bitdefender/ESET reseller add-ons per endpoint.
The model breaks when techs scale faster than endpoints. 10 techs × $189 = $1,890/mo for a fleet a per-endpoint vendor would price at $900. Atera wins at HIGH endpoints-per-tech (300+); loses at helpdesk-heavy shops with many techs touching few devices. Run YOUR ratio before believing anyone's comparison table — including ours: NinjaOne pricing breakdown.

Atera vs NinjaOne vs N-able — one-line math

Your shapeCheapest sane choice
1-3 techs, 300+ endpoints/techAtera — nothing touches the per-tech math
5+ techs, <150 endpoints/techPer-endpoint (NinjaOne) usually undercuts
Complex networks, SNMP depth, 2k+ devicesN-able N-central or Datto — pay for depth
Tool cost is the small line. The tech seats you're multiplying by are $4-8k/month each. Our white-label team staffs YOUR Atera/Ninja instance — L1/L2 helpdesk, alert triage, patching — from $10/hr, under your brand: white label MSP services. That's the line item worth optimizing.

FAQ

How much does Atera cost?

Per technician, unlimited endpoints: roughly $149-$219/tech/month billed annually ($169-$269 monthly) depending on tier, MSP vs IT-department track. Add-ons (backup, EDR, network discovery, AI) are extra.

Does Atera really allow unlimited devices?

Yes — agents are unlimited on every plan. The bill grows through technician seats and add-ons, not device count.

Does Atera have a free trial?

Yes — 30 days, no credit card, self-service. The most friction-free trial in RMM.

Why did my Atera renewal price increase?

Atera has raised list prices several times since 2024 and grandfathering has been limited. Negotiate at renewal with a competitor quote, or lock multi-year annual pricing when you commit.
